How to use Amazon in different countries?

Vijay Malviya

Amazon offers a seamless shopping experience for customers worldwide, and you can shop on Amazon even when you’re in a different country. With Amazon’s international shipping and various local sites, you can access a wide range of products and get them delivered to where you are. Here’s a guide on how to use Amazon in different countries and take advantage of all its features.

Shopping on Amazon Global

If you’re looking to shop internationally, Amazon’s Global Store lets you browse and purchase items from other countries’ Amazon websites. The products will be shipped directly to your location, with international shipping fees and customs duties calculated at checkout. The Global Store makes it easy to access items that may not be available in your local Amazon site.

Here’s how to use Amazon Global:

  • Go to your local Amazon website and select Amazon Global Store in the category options or directly search for items labeled as “Amazon Global.”
  • Check the item’s shipping eligibility by entering your international address.
  • At checkout, review shipping costs and import fees. Amazon will show the estimated total, including duties and taxes.

Switching Between Country-Specific Amazon Sites

Amazon has dedicated websites for multiple countries, such as Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.in, and more. These localized sites provide region-specific items, deals, and shipping options. You can switch to a different country’s Amazon site if you’re looking for products exclusive to that region.

To access different Amazon sites:

  • Go to the specific URL for the country’s Amazon website (e.g., Amazon.co.uk for the UK, Amazon.de for Germany).
  • Create an account on the new site if you haven’t already, as accounts are often site-specific.
  • Add your international shipping address and review the availability of the items you’re interested in.

Using Amazon’s International Shipping Option

Amazon offers international shipping on a wide variety of items. By selecting the “Ship to” option in your account settings, you can choose your current country and Amazon will filter products that are eligible for international shipping.

Here’s how to set it up:

  • Log in to your Amazon account and go to the Settings menu.
  • Under Country & Language, select the country you’re currently in or want products shipped to.
  • Amazon will display items eligible for shipping to your selected country and show the estimated delivery dates and fees.

Using Amazon Currency Converter

If you’re shopping on a foreign Amazon site, you can use Amazon’s currency converter for smoother transactions. This tool converts prices to your preferred currency at checkout, making it easier to understand costs without doing manual conversions.

To use the currency converter:

  • Add items to your cart, proceed to checkout, and select Amazon Currency Converter on the payment page.
  • Amazon will show the total amount in your preferred currency before finalizing the purchase.

Utilizing Amazon Prime Benefits Internationally

If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you may be able to use certain benefits while abroad. However, services like free shipping, Prime Video, and other perks may vary by region.

Here’s what you can do to maximize Prime internationally:

  • Check the available Prime benefits in your current location by visiting the local Amazon site.
  • For streaming services, log in to Prime Video with your Amazon account to access titles available in the region.
  • Be aware that some Prime benefits, such as free two-day shipping, may not be available outside your home country.

Using Amazon across different countries offers flexibility, allowing you to access products globally. Just remember to check shipping fees, product availability, and any customs requirements to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
